What is your favorite way to follow people and their blogs? Starting out as a Blogger, Google Friend Connect (GFC) was handsdown my favorite way to do just that. Now, that I have moved my personal blog Busy Momi Bee to WordPress GFC is no longer an option. That’s right, when you move your blog to WordPress you cannot bring the GFC widget with you:( I know that is a bummer and that is what kept me holding on to my Blogger Blog…until now!
Google+ is the new thing and now you can add that GFC looking widget to your sidebar. Now there are many variations of how to add Google+ to your sidebar. There is the Google+ Profile Badge, Google+ Page Badge and my favorite choice the Google+ Followers Widget! Take a look…it looks very similar to the GFC Widget!
So, how do you add the widget?
Blogger – Just grab your Google+ url and go the to layout section of your blog and click on “Add A Gadget”. Once there choose “Google+ Followers and follow the directions from there. Yes, it is that easy. You will also notice that you also have options for the Google+ Badge and Google+ Button.
WordPress – Grab your Google+ url and add it to this code. Place the code in a text widget on your sidebar and that is it! So easy!
Just click for the code: div class!
